‘Veep’ season 4: Where could Julia Louis-Dreyfus, cast go from here?
Tonight, HBO plans to close the door on the third season of “Veep” with an elaborate hour-long event that contains the final two episode of the season, but you can at least still celebrate the fact that there is no reason to worry about the future. HBO has already renewed the show for a fourth season, and it will be back around this time next year.
As for just what you can expect, admittedly a whole lot of it is going to depend on the outcome of the finale tonight. So why not paint a few possible scenarios now?
If Selina wins New Hampshire – It is likely that season 4 will take her campaign to the next level, and see the big Presidential debates play out between her and the other party leaders. It would be a risky move to make her President, though, unless of course the plan here was for this show to always run for only four seasons before saying goodbye.
If Selina loses New Hampshire, but gets put on another ticket – It’s possible that she ends up the Veep again, and then season 4 is a little bit of a reboot that takes her back to the first season. We wouldn’t actually mind that, given that there really is so much more that could be mined from this that we didn’t see in the first two seasons.
If Selina loses, and is on no ticket – Do we really have a show anymore? We feel like this could be fun, but the show certainly wouldn’t be “Veep” anymore.
