‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final: Ranking Jack Pack, Darcy Oake, Bars and Melody, more
Tonight marks the episode of “Britain’s Got Talent” so many have been waiting for: The final. You have acts that span multiple forms of entertainment, and at the end only one of them will find their way into the Royal Variety. While we feel like on paper there is a favorite, we’ve seen with this show before (Susan Boyle losing to Diversity) that this is not always a good indicator of who actually wins.
11. Lettice Rowbotham – Her performance in the last round was not particularly amazing, and she mostly got this far thanks to her personality and the fact that she was the last performer on her night.
10. Yanis Marshall, Arnaud, and Mehdi – They had a decent last round, but there is nothing about this camp dance act that suggests that it will have any votes at all in the final. There are bigger threats.
9. The Addict Initiative – A decent dance crew, but there has not been anything that special about what they have done so far. The only real hope that this group has is if they have a lot of friends who all vote a number of times.
8. Jon Clegg – As the wild card Jon will most likely get some votes as an inspirational story, and he was better in the semifinals than the three acts he is ranked higher here than. It is just very hard to win the competition with comedy.
7. James Smith – There are so many singers this season, it feels more about the groups than it does the individual. James is slightly better than Bailey McConnell who barely missed out on being the wildcard.
6. Paddy & Nico – They had a great story getting here, but we have a hard time thinking that these two are going to win, given that the real source of their fan support is Paddy’s age. They are very good dancers, but we’ve seen better ones on the show before.
5. Lucy Kay – She has the best odds of any individual singer of taking the whole competition, but the question we wonder is whether or not she and Collabro will split votes.
4. Collabro – Also, there is the issue of Collabro splitting votes with Jack Pack, who we imagine are also going to be extremely popular tonight. Given that there is love surrounding the Rat Pack songs, we give them the edge.
3. Darcy Oake – Really the only hope this season for a talent not related to singing coming out on top. Darcy is a very good magician, but he needs a trick that is completely out of this world to have a chance at winning the final round.
2. Jack Pack – They could very easily win this competition, and we feel like Simon Cowell would sell them immediately and get some good record sales out of them. There’s hasn’t been a group just like this performing standards in some time.
1. Bars & Melody – This is not so much a list of personal favorites as it is figuring out who has the edge going into tonight. These two have the biggest fan base online, support from celebrities around the world, youth (there aren’t many kid acts this year), and also talent and genuine potential. There is so much going in their favor that if they perform at the end of the night, their odds of winning are through the roof.
