‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: Talking writers, waiting, and more waiting

What's coming up? -While we have shared a few “Supernatural” season 10 updates when it comes to Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, we have not discussed too much when it comes to the writing process for the show right now, including whether or not it is actually happening.

Of course, we’re not going to have much on what exactly the writers are working on, mostly because these are a group of people who don’t want to lose their jobs. Instead, let’s focus on something a little bit different here: The fact that they have been working for a few weeks now in some capacity, and while they had a break in between the end of their season in production and the finale airing, the time between the season finale airing and them returning to work was basically nil. This is the sort of work that goes into this show!

Some early episodes and stories are being developed now, and the traditional production calendar goes a little something like this:

  1. The writers work on scripts for many, many weeks. There are funny jokes on Twitter that only they understand, and mass discussions in the fandom about what it all means.
  2. The cast arrives to work typically in July, though the show is typically careful not to reveal the production start date since there is a potential for pandemonium.
  3. The season typically does not premiere until early October, especially since The CW started their recent initiative to do whatever they can to make sure that there are fewer repeats during the season compared to the competition.

What do you want to see on “Supernatural” next season? Let us know some of your thoughts below, and if you missed it from earlier this spring, take a look now at some of what we want to see.
