‘Britain’s Got Talent’: David Walliams reportedly in talks to return
You would have thought that the start of “Britain’s Got Talent” these days would be Simon Cowell given that he is the most-famous person on the judging panel, but that has turned out to not be the case. Instead, the person we look forward to seeing the most every season is David Walliams. While he at times shies away from giving any actual critique at all in the live shows, his antics around Simon Cowell are hysterical, and so is his feeling on camp humor as a part of the competition.
Now, it shouldn’t come as a shock that producers are already doing what they can to bring him back. Per the Daily Mirror, David is being offered a raise of £1 million in order to continue on the show for another two years. This marks a 25% raise on his previous salary, so the pot is certainly being sweetened.
Outside of him not doing it anymore, we don’t understand why David would want to do anything else other than this show. At this point in the year. He is extremely popular, the show only takes up a few months of the year, and it is a great platform to promote his other work. The one part of the report we simply do not believe is that the bosses are afraid that Simon is going to be tired of working with David after all of his antics. This is the main reason that the guy was hired for the show in the first place, and he is smart enough to know that it would be well-suited to keep the guy around. Plus, we have a feeling that they get along very well off-camera.
To us, is “Britain’s Got Talent” even worth watching without Walliams around? Shre below, and click here to see more of who is advancing to the final next weekend. Also, be sure to sign up to get additional TV updates from our CarterMatt Newsletter.
