‘Orphan Black’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Moving past surprising death
The Grim Reaper paid a visit to “Orphan Black” Saturday night, but the person who died is probably not someone you would have expected going in. (Obviously, there are some significant spoilers ahead.)
Leekie is no longer among the living, and seeing it happen both by accident and at the hands of Donnie were probably equal surprises when you think about it for a minute. There is another villain in the mix, though, that needs to be taken down, and they are played by “The Killing” alum Michelle Forbes.
So what will be coming up next for all of Tatiana Maslany’s alter egos and beyond? The official synopsis via BBC America may shed at least a few hints:
“A new player in the clone conspiracy turns up at Felix’s door, sending him into crisis mode. With Cosima running out of options, Sarah struggles with the decision to surrender a crucial piece of leverage and make a deal with Dyad.”
This episode, entitled “Variable And Full Of Perturbation,” is the eighth one of this season. In other words, if you thought that what you saw tonight was insane and stuffed full of shocking events, you haven’t seen anything yet. Things are only going to become more and more chaotic, and the Reaper may be paying another visit before it’s all over.
In the end, one of the real victories of “Orphan Black” may be this: We are sitting around on a Saturday night talking about a show that just aired. There are not too many programs that generate this response on what is considered by some to be the worst night of TV.
