‘Britain’s Got Talent’ results: Did Paddy & Nico, Jack Pack, advance? Plus, Richard & Adam return
Tonight’s “Britain’s Got Talent” results show was a little bit of a special one for a number of reasons. Not only did we find out who made it to the finale, but we had a pair of performance from reigning champions Attraction Shadow Theater along with opera singers Richard & Adam. Basically, by the time this performance was over there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
There were a few acts who seemed to be genuine contenders to advance, and we felt like the top three were probably going to be Bailey McConnell, Paddy & Nico, and also the man band known as Jack Pack. Personally, we would have actually taken Jenson Zhu over either the singer or the dancer; he is not remotely good at impressions, but he has a certain charm about him that is really quite funny. We’d also like some more variety on the finale, and there isn’t really anyone comedy-oriented in there right now.
Paddy & Nico were the first act announced in the top three, and shortly after that they were joined by the other two acts we predicted. Admittedly, we’re quite bummed about Jenson since he was at least very entertaining. Jack Pack won the night, and this set up a showdown between the singers and Bailey.
Here’s the thing about Paddy & Nico. There is no doubt that they are an inspirational duo and good performers. However, we see them almost like Janey Cutler a few seasons ago. There is talent here, but it feels like that is being overlapped by the story. Bailey has more potential in the long-term, but it felt going into the judges’ vote that he was going to be stonewalled. Bailey did at least get a vote from Simon Cowell, but Paddy & Nico got the other three votes and will be in the finale.
