‘American Idol’ season 14 video: First look at the audition process
“American Idol” season 13 may be over, but the journey is just now beginning to find the next potential start on season 14. The judges presumably will all be back, and most everything will be the same except for some new stars vying for the title.
So where can you audition, and how? Most of the details you’ll find in the video below. There will once again be huge cattle-call auditions like there has been in the past, but you will also have the bus tour going around to smaller places around the country. If we were a contestant wanting to get on the show, we’d probably go to one of the small-town tours simply to avoid some of the hysteria, and be in an environment that is a little bit more relaxed than the intimidating arenas.
Auditions are taking place in the weeks ahead, and like most other seasons of the show, the formal auditions with the judges will take place later this fall. We’re interested in seeing how the new season goes, mostly because without “The X Factor” around on the air, maybe there will be a little less burnout when it comes to the singing competition genre. One of the major reasons why the ratings have plummeted in recent years is simply because there are so many people who are tired of watching people sing. Also, you can argue that there are still some problems out there with the current talent pool and the number of original performers as a whole.
