‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Nathaniel Buzolic to return as Kol
The moment that Nathaniel Buzolic’s new show “Supernatural: Bloodlines” was not picked up for another season, you knew that this was probably going to happen. Now, it’s official: He is coming back to “The Originals” for at least one more appearance.
You may have heard the rumors that Buzolic was going to reprise his role as Kol earlier this month, when the BloodyNightCon event in Barcelona claimed that he had been forced to drop out due to filming commitments. Now, TVLine has confirmed that Kol will appear in flashbacks as a means to better set up one of the stories that is coming up. Basically, this means that the show is not bringing the character back from the dead after his end on “The Vampire Diaries,” but it is still far better than nothing.
When we were first introduced to Kol on the flagship show years ago, there was no way of knowing that he would become such a fan favorite. The fandom for Kol exploded during “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, and there have been frequent pleas and trending topics to have him appear more in the future. While the show may never revive him, hopefully he can get in another couple of appearances before re-entering pilot season. The CW is good to their own, so we feel like he is going to get another shot with another potential series in the future where he can be a regular. While we know that some want Kol to become a series regular, it feels more likely that Buzolic will just find his own show in due time.
For now, how do you feel about more Kol? Share your thoughts of excitement / whatever emotion you may have at the moment below! Also, you can sign up here to get more fangtastic TV news via email, or here for further updates now on “The Originals.”
