NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3: Does Lee Pace want a Bryan Fuller reunion?
If you think back to a few years ago, one of the most beloved shows on TV was a quirky little gem called “Pushing Daisies” that was something so weird and twisted, only Bryan Fuller could think of it. Unfortunately, Fuller’s style tends to lead to a slightly-less-than-mainstream viewership, and the show only lasted two seasons before being pulled off of the air.
However, everyone has been able to move on pretty well from the show. Fuller now has another critical darling in “Hannibal” on NBC, which takes risks of its own when it comes to art style while adding many gross elements. Meanwhile, “Pushing Daisies” star Lee Place has a new show of his own starting Sunday in AMC’s “Halt and Catch Fire.”
So could these two ever forge some sort of reunion? You cannot rule it out, based on what Pace said to TVLine about if he would ever love to pop over to Fuller’s new series during its third season:
“I would love to. I love that show. What an incredibly eclectic series of shows Bryan Fuller has made. What he’s doing is so cool with my beloved Caroline Dhavernas, my little sister [on Wonderfalls]. So I would love to play someone twisted and dark on Hannibal.”
So far, the good news for Pace seems to be that things are on the up and up. While “Halt and Catch Fire” has not premiered yet, buzz is strong in the early going that AMC may have finally found its next hit at a time when it really needs one. “Mad Men” is ending, and even though there is still “Better Call Saul,” nobody knows just yet how that series is going to do.
