‘Britain’s Got Talent’: Favorites Paddy & Nico forced to withdraw after injury
By the time that the “Britain’s Got Talent” final arrives next weekend, it looks as though only one golden-buzzer act in Bars & Melody is going to be present for the show. We’ve already seen REAformed, Toju, and Christian Spridon be eliminated, and now Amanda Holden’s act Paddy & Nico have withdrawn from the competition after the 79-year old dancer injured herself in rehearsals.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the show confirmed this with the following message:
“After seeking medical advice, Paddy will not be able to perform in the semi-final. Unfortunately because of this Paddy and Nico have had to withdraw from the competition.”
Given that tomorrow was meant to be the next semifinal show, it will be interesting to see if Simon Cowell can find a replacement act for the duo on the show. Otherwise, you will either have to extend some of the other acts or add some filler.
While these two have always been considered favorites to go far in the competition, there has also been some controversy courtesy of Paddy’s past experience winning another talent competition, as there were some claims out there that her being able to participate was somewhat unfair. However, this is the same sort of complaining that a variety of acts on every season get from either jealous other contestants or viewers who just like to complain about things.
This exit could mean even more that Bars & Melody are favorites to win the entire competition, but we would also would put singer Lucy Kay up there on some level, as well. A few of the surprise acts in the finale right now are dance trio Yanis Marshall and violinist Lettice Rowbotham.
