‘American Idol’ winner Caleb Johnson, ‘The Voice’s’ Danielle Bradbery sing at Memorial Day event

Caleb Johnson -With today being Memorial Day, this means an opportunity for reflection and appreciation for the Armed Forces. Not only that, but it also means an opportunity for many of the top vocalists in the country to flock to Washington DC in order to perform at some events. The likes of Candice Clover and Jessica Sanchez have performed at some important locales in the future, and this happened again this weekend with reigning “American Idol” champion Caleb Johnson.

Caleb performed at the PBS Memorial Day event at the Capitol, and when it comes to his song choice, he of course gave a rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that was met with a great deal of praise. There’s never been any question when it comes to his vocal abilities, and he completely nailed this one.

Also present for this event? It was none other than “The Voice” champion Danielle Bradbery, who gave a performance of “I Will Never Forget You” that was certainly stirring. There were some good moments in here, but we would certainly qualify this one as worthy of at least a few tissues to wipe away some of your tears.

It has been a few seasons now since Danielle won “The Voice” (at least a year), and this performance was a way to keep her in the spotlight. She has had some success in country radio with “The Heart of Dixie,” which was her debut single following her time on the show.

Hopefully, we’ll have more updates on other singing stars in the future, so stay tuned for more of that.
