‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Locations in Spain being scouted
How often is it that you have an opportunity to have news on the next season of “Game of Thrones” before the current one is over? It’s rare, but it is precisely what we have for you today!
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, there are locations in Spain that are already being scouted for the new season, and we’ve also heard that there are multiple new faces being cast. This would be the first time that filming has gone to this country, but they have already visited the likes of Croatia, Northern Ireland, Morocco, Iceland, and more.
So what could Spain be used for? With a possible SPOILER warning here for fans of the show only, we presume that it would be a nice stand-in for Dorne, especially if the show decides to introduce more and more of the people that occupy this part of the world. Oberyn Martell has been an introduction of sorts to this group of people, and that will only be expanded upon moving forward.
Filming for “Game of Thrones” season 5 will presumably take place this summer, with the show premiering on HBO again in the spring of next year. We’re assuming that Northern Ireland and Croatia will continue to be used as they always are, but for the time being everything else remains a mystery. The great thing the show has going for it is that with the ratings that it has, there is the budget necessary to really create these worlds rather than just standing in front of a green screen somewhere.
