‘Silicon Valley’ episode 8 (finale) spoilers: What to expect on HBO next week
Tonight, the Memorial Day Holiday kept “Silicon Valley” from coming on the air with a new episode. However, you can go ahead and expect the finale next week to be stuffed full of some shocking twists as Pied Piper really does everything that it can to survive while Gavin Belson threatens to completely destroy them with the Nucleus platform he has been working on.
HBO has never been known for their extended synopses for any of the series; as a matter of fact, this tiny tease actually looks substantial compared to what they give you more often than not for “Game of Thrones”:
“Poised to compete at TechCrunch Disrupt, the guys of Pied Piper become worried after an impressive presentation by Gavin Belson (Matt Ross). As Jared (Zach Woods) tries to pivot the company, Richard (Thomas Middleditch) is inspired to make big changes at the last minute.”
One of the real issues that this show has to address is a challenge that “Entourage” also explored: How quickly do you want to give your guys great success? You don’t want to make it so that there is no more tension that comes with the group trying to make it big. However, you don’t want to beat them so far into the ground that you start to worry about whether or not they are going to be able to push their way back up again. We feel like the show has another worthwhile season or two of struggle in it, but given how quickly technologies change, they will have to move quickly after that if they want Pied Piper to work at all to the point where these people make money.
