‘The Amazing Race 25’: Confirmation on new cast, Friday night debate

Tonight marks the end of “The Amazing Race 24,” but since we are a firm believer that it’s never too early to start looking ahead to next season, that’s what we are going to do here for at least a minute or two.

So where do we start now? How about the fact that we are going to have an all-new cast of racers again for the first time in a year. while you probably assumed this anyway, host Phil Keoghan has confirmed that over the past several weeks. There of course isn’t a list of people out there yet, and will not be for a while. The show will film over the summer, and once the entire race is through filming, at that point the cast information will come on. (Unless there is someone notable in the cast and it gives nothing away about outcome, we’ll wait until the CBS release to talk about it.)

Also, you have probably heard the vast multitude of headlines regarding the show moving for Friday nights in the fall, and we understand that it is upsetting for some. With that being said, though, we still feel like this is overall going to be okay for the show. “Shark Tank,” “Undercover Boss,” and even to an extent “Grimm” have shown that you can find a place to succeed on the night, and the big thing that you just have to watch out for is whether or not you are going to be able to keep viewers around long-term when they go out one Friday night.

The one major advantage to this new timeslot is this: No more football delays! We just have to hope that this move isn’t going to make CBS tempted to cut the budget further, and every challenge next season is somehow set in someone’s backyard in Burbank.
