‘American Idol XIII’ finale: Demi Lovato, Jason Mraz, Phillip Phillips to perform

The logo -The “American Idol XIII” finale is now a mere matter of days away, and as we approach that date, we now have more information when it comes to a key question: Just who is going to be performing during the episode?

For all of you who have scoffed and rolled your eyes at the sort of artists that the show could potentially get now with its lower ratings, you may actually be blown away by some of the names that we are talking about here. They include the likes of Lady Antebellum, John Legend, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Nettles, Phillip Phillips, KISS, Darius Rucker, Paramore, and Aloe Blacc. Personally, we would like to see reigning champion Candice Glover on here because that feels more like the nice thing to do every season, but it’s still a lot of big names despite lower ratings.

The finale schedule is a little different next week, so make note of that. Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene will each hit the stage in an effort to win over the audience on Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, and then the finale will air the following day and run until just after 10:00. This does keep another recent show tradition alive, since the finale for some reason always tends to extend itself further than the typical run time (which is interesting, given how much of it is filler). For those first few years, this was actually an event that rivaled the Grammys when it comes to exposure. Now, it’ll be lucky to be better than the average awards show.

As for who is most likely to win right now, the favorite status probably goes to Caleb given that he has never been in danger once this season, and that the last three times that a man and a woman have competed in the finale, the man has won.

We’ll have more on the finale soon, so be on the lookout for that! Also, sign up if you want to get further news worth singing about via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
