‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Boss on Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham’s status
At the end of “The Vampire Diaries” season 5, the show brought forward quite a shocker as we seemingly arrived at the end of the road for two of the characters … or did we?
This is what this new report is all about. Speaking to TVLine, show executive producer Julie Plec basically confirmed that both Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham are going to remain a part of the upcoming season, despite concerns over whether or not they are really off at peace somewhere. Maybe this is going to sudden turn into the “diaries of people who may or may not be in Heaven,” but we doubt it. Plec has already stated many times that she is not so interested in diving into Heaven and Hell on this show, but instead is looking at the afterlife a little more ambiguously. Personally, we’d be interesting to see more of the show’s interpretation of that.
Also, Plec suggested that Michael Malarkey (who plays Enzo) is set to become a series regular, which is to us the biggest shocker of all. Typically, being a recurring guest star on a show after its second season is code for “we’re going to either kill you off or write you out in the finale.” We were all but certain going into this that either one or two of these things was going to happen.
