‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Lea Michele, Naya Rivera will both return, says co-creator

Fear not, Gleeks out there: Lea Michele and Naya Rivera are going to see their stories through for the remainder of “Glee’s” run on TV.

As of late, there have been some rumors regarding that Naya in particular was going to be departing the show, mostly because of the chatter that she was “fired” following some supposed conflicts on set. There was never really a whole lot of supporting evidence of something going on, but this because a hot story thanks to the tabloids, and thanks to it being regurgitated time and time again. The only part of it that was true was that she was written out of the finale, and we never know the real reason for that.

All we can do for now is present the comments that co-creator Ryan Murphy made on this subject to “Extra,” where he made it very clear that anyone who loved the characters will have a chance to watch and love them again:

“I don’t think there is a story between Naya and Lea … I always marvel at the things that become headline news that most of the time are completely fabricated.

“Naya’s coming back next year. Lea’s coming back next year. Anybody ever in that cast has an open invitation to come back and finish the character they so beautifully started.”

You can take this as a sign that Heather Morris, who was back for the finale, and Dianna Agron were also invited back. We don’t believe that Fox can afford the full cast anymore, but some guest spots here and there would be nice.

Now, the only real question that remains is whether or not there will be viewers there when the show returns, as well. Given that the finale (0.6) was defeated by “The Originals” (0.8) int he 18-49 demographic, you know that Fox has to be regretting giving the show a two-season pickup a year ago. Also, we almost expect the show to be burned off at this point on Saturday nights. It was not on the fall schedule, and for good reason with those CW-level numbers.
