‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: Hermione Norris of ‘The Crimson Field’ to appear

The latest -You have to love just how classy the folks over at the BBC are when it comes to revealing some of the guest stars from their shows. Who else out there issues full press releases anytime that they have something this exciting to share? We feel like the answer for that is “not many.”

But, we are thrilled to report today that thanks to the latest big release from the network, we know with certainty that none other than Hermione Norris of “The Crimson Field” is going to be appearing in at least one upcoming episode. While the actress’ character has not been revealed yet, the exciting news about it is that she will be a part of a story heading to a familiar world. Steven Moffat issued a statement to go along with the casting announcement, and he had the following to say:

“It’s a testament to the quality of Peter Harness’s intense and emotional script, that we’ve been able to attract an actress of the brilliance of Hermione Norris. And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure – but there have been sinister changes since his last visit.”

Norris herself said in another statement that what she is the most excited about when it comes this story is getting an opportunity to have a part on a show that her kids could watch, and was so beloved by many. We know that we are personally cheering about this gig already.
