‘Downton Abbey’ season 5 video: Watch Joanne Froggatt, Sophie McShera, cast speak out

The latest -Do you have more than an hour of free time? If so, then you are probably really going to enjoy the video below. It’s a chance to see a percentage of the “Downton Abbey” cast and crew look back at this past season, and also talk about what is coming up for the fifth season.

Earlier this weekend, the likes of Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates), Robert James-Collier (Thomas Barrow), Sophie McShera (Daisy Mason), and Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes) were all present at Paramount Pictures Studios for a lengthy discussion, and they were joined by executive producers Gareth Neame and Julian Fellowes.

The most amazing part of this discussion to us is mostly that the cast found a way to get across the world and make this happen while also in the middle of production. It’s not exactly easy to fly in to Los Angeles from London, even if it is a non-stop flight. One of the ways that they were probably able to make this happen a little easier is thanks to the ensemble nature of the “Downton Abbey” cast. It allows for a little bit more flexibility than the average series, and the eight episodes (plus the Christmas Special) that the show films a year also keeps things open so that the cast can all go and do some other things, as well.

There is no premiere date for the fifth season just yet, but you can expect something a little similar to what we’ve seen in the past with a premiere in the UK in September, and in America in January.
