‘Britain’s Got Talent’ preview: The Jack Pack brings some old-school charm

More news -Typically, we loathe seeing many singing acts on talent shows, mostly because there are already some more-specialized shows out there for them to be a part of. However, there is something about the Jack Pack on this weekend’s edition of “Britain’s Got Talent” that we personally find to be refreshing and interesting. It’s mostly because this is the sort of singing group that couldn’t be on another talent show.

The bad thing about the group is that they’re not modern, and therefore Simon Cowell will probably complain about them. However, they are all snazzy dressers with good voices, and they perform this old-school Brat Pack music that we love. They’re take on “That’s Life” is pretty outstanding, and easily worthy of a spot in the next round of the show.

The question for them when it comes to whether or not they will make it far in the competition is whether or not they are going to be able to stick to their guns, or be influenced heavily by the producers, who do not always know what they’re doing when it comes to the acts. This is not a group that really benefits from performing a new song in this style. We’d rather just see them do another Frank Sinatra classic. This music has held up extremely well over the years, and there’s still a market for it. They may have a hard time winning doing things that many other artists have done already, but we can see them getting to the finals based mostly on their style and their professionalism … in addition to their voices. You need to have the complete package to do well on these shows.
