‘Glee’ season 5: Lea Michele reflects on end of filming

Lea Michele -Fans of “Glee” season 5 can know one thing now regarding the extensive filming for the final episode in just a week and a half: Filming is now coming to a close for it. Summer vacation begins for the cast and crew, and hopefully over the months ahead we’ll have a little bit of a better idea of how the final season of the show is going to work.

For now, though, let’s share a thankful and emotional message from Lea Michele, who has been through more than anyone this year in between Cory Monteith’s death and soldiering on with everything else in her life, via her Twitter account:

Last day of #Glee season 5.. I can’t believe how fast this season went by.. I could not have gotten through this year… without all of you & you’re endless love & support. I’m so grateful for my cast. They are my family & have held me up through everything.”

Lea went on to thank everyone from executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk to music heads Alex Anders and Adam Anders for everything that they have done.

Now will “Glee” actually hit the right notes upon its exit? We’re starting to feel at least slightly more confident about it now than we did weeks ago. The show has regained a little of its old edge and energy since getting out of high school, but it still has real work to do making us care in the way that we once did. The challenge that the show runs right smack into is that for the first time, the cast is really not a group of underdogs in any way. Mercedes has a recording deal, Rachel Berry is a star, and Blaine is on the up-and-up. They have to find a way to be interesting even after they’ve done things that many can only dream of.

Hopefully, you’ll see some of that in Tuesday’s episode “Old Dog, New Tricks.” For now, we just suggest clicking here to get a preview of what to expect. Also, sign up now to get further song-worthy news via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
