‘Game of Thrones’ season 4: Natalie Dormer on weddings and more with Seth Meyers
Given that “Game of Thrones” is a show build up largely of previously-unknown actors, it is not often you get many opportunities to see a variety of them on late-night talk-shows. Typically, the two standbys are Emilia Clarke (Dany) and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), though you can also at times see Lena Headey (Cersei) or Niklaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) make an appearance or two.
What makes this interview with Natalie Dormer on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” is mostly that it’s Natalie Dormer. Granted, it may be a little easier now to see appearances from her on late-night talk shows than it used to be thanks to her lasting in the latest edition of “The Hunger Games” movie franchise, but we still welcome it. It only takes about two seconds to remember that Dormer doesn’t look much like her character in real life, and then the discussion on the show and more begins.
For “Game of Thrones” fans, your enjoyment of this chat is largely dependent on what you expect to get out of it. This is not something where Dormer is out to try and drop huge bombs on the show or scoop much of what is coming next. Heck, there are many viewers out there who probably don’t even know what a Tyrell is. (Shame on them!) Therefore, it’s hard for Seth to get extremely in-depth, even if he is a huge fan of the George R.R. Martin fan and you can even see it in the way in which he acts during the chat like he is more excited than usual. (This also explains all the “Game of Thrones” references during his time on “Saturday Night Live.”)
