‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Bates Motel,’ ‘Lost’ actor to romance Alicia
In the wake of all that has happened to Alicia Florrick this season on “The Good Wife,” did you really think that we were going to be seeing her get a little bit of love in her life this season? We’re certainly surprised about it, but at the same time, it makes a little sense. She is clearly in a position where she needs emotional support, and if she is not getting it from her husband Peter, she may start to look elsewhere and consider those options.
That may be where Nestor Carbonell enters the equation. CBS confirmed today that the actor, who you know best as either Richard Alpert from “Lost” or Sheriff Romero from “Bates Motel,” will guest-star on the upcoming May 4 episode as an entrepreneur with a ton of charm. Alicia is drawn to him, and even though she is technically married, we all know that this is almost a figurehead relationship status at this point.
Carbonell joins the roster of incredible actors who have appeared on this show, including the likes of Nathan Lane, Maura Tierney, Michael J. Fox, Carrie Preston, and Stockard Channing (who will be returning in this hour as Alicia’s mother). This is also a nice change of pace for him, given that most of his roles have featured characters in some sort of extreme situation as of late. While “The Good Wife” had that when it comes to Will’s shooting, most of the time it tries to ground itself in something resembling reality.
There are only a few episodes left this season, and hopefully those will serve to better establish whatever future direction the writers plan to take Alicia, and the law firms at the center of the program, moving forward.
