NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 2, episode 8 preview: ‘Su-Zakana,’ and Will Graham – Miriam Lass aftermath

Hugh Dancy -Friday night’s “Hannibal” once again set the bar high for the show. Will was released, Lecter tried to set up Chilton, succeeded, and then saw him killed by Miriam Lass. Somehow, she got that terrible thought programmed into her brain, and it’s up for Hugh Dancy’s character to try to pick up the piece.

But where does the series really go from here? That is the question we’ll try to answer with “Su-Zakana,” the new new episode airing a week from tonight. There is another killing, and more manipulation on Hannibal’s part as he actually requests Will Graham be brought into the fold for a change. It is fair to wonder why, but Hannibal’s motives typically tend to be revealed over time.

This show has a knack for lengthy synopses, and this time around is no exception. Check out the latest below:

“When a young woman’s body is discovered inside of a horse, Hannibal suggests to Jack that Will be brought in to help crack this peculiar case. Will has seemingly cast aside his suspicions of Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen), resuming their doctor-patient relationship, but Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) remains skeptical regarding Will’s true intentions and worries that Hannibal may still be in danger. The FBI questions the man they suspect to be the killer in their case, but lack of evidence forces them to let him go. Will and Hannibal race to guard the safety of a witness they believe is in jeopardy, but it might be Will’s own judgment that is in peril.”

Now, we turn to our weekly edition of “talking episode titles.”  “Su-Zakana” can basically be thought of as a palette cleanser, and while it is a little more difficult to decipher some other past titles for this show, this one feels almost a little bit clearer and hints at something symbolic.
