‘The Following’ season 2, episode 13 preview: Kevin Bacon and ‘The Reaping’

On Monday night’s new episode of “The Following,” you had a story that was a mixture of the good and the bad … but it was more on the latter. In addition to Mandy losing her life in a pretty gruesome fashion, we saw Ryan Hardy to his best to infiltrate the Korban compound. Unfortunately, the story ended right when things were starting to get exciting.

Is there a silver lining to this? For now, we’ll have to just say “maybe” thanks to the fact that this episode did leave us off in a pretty good position. Based on the official synopsis below for next week’s “The Reaping,” the war between Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy’s characters could be here. The only thing that may slow it down? The presence of the FBI, which is slowly starting to descend on the compound, as well, and could keep Ryan from having his revenge.

Take a look at this episode’s synopsis below:

“Ryan tracks down the location of the Korban compound with hopes to infiltrate the cult and capture Joe Carroll, but all doesn’t go exactly as planned. Meanwhile, Claire asks Carrie to deliver a message to Joe, and Weston makes a decision that will change the course of his life forever.”

The part of this synopsis that is mostly about Weston is the part that has us the most worried, largely thanks to the fact that everyone seems to die on this show all the time. We definitely don’t want to see that happen with one of the show’s best overall characters.
