‘True Blood’ season 7: Alexander Skarsgard, cast’s return date; ‘The Leftovers’ premiere

A surprise -For all of you wondering when you can find out the fate of Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric Northman on “True Blood” season 7 and so much more, we now have some great scoop for you today: The show has just unveiled when new episodes will come on HBO starting up this summer.

This date should really not surprise anyone at all, based mostly on the fact that this is around the same time that the show has launched the past few years: June 22 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is the week after “Game of Thrones” goes off the air, and this ensures that HBO has nothing to worry about from the perspective of not having any big programming on his summer.

The network is also making sure of that in another big way, courtesy of the date that they have just announced for their Damon Lindelof series “The Leftovers“: Revealed that it will actually premiere on the same night as the “Game of Thrones” finale. The first episode will air June 15 at 10:00, and it will then follow “True Blood” the rest of the way until its ten-episode season is complete. The beauty with this announcement for “The Leftovers” is that it is basically ensured two great launch weeks in a row to try and build up as big of an audience as possible. Lindelof’s pedigree with “Lost” and the “Star Trek” movies should help him build curiosity, even if there are plenty of people out there who still sit around with their buddies and complain about how the long-running ABC show ended. (We still maintain that we liked it.)

In case you haven’t heard, “The Leftovers” is a series all about those who have been left behind following the Apocalypse, but it has a very different feel and tone to it than the very religious “Left Behind” books that have sold millions upon millions of copies.
