Adam Lambert on ‘Glee’ season 5 run, new album

The latest -Based on most of the reports and press releases that are out there, tonight marks the last episode for Adam Lambert on “Glee” season 5 … and we understand if you are feeling a little sad about that. The former “American Idol” star has had a heck of a run on the show, in between giving a number of performances, befriending Chris Colfer’s Kurt after some initial tension, and also just showing that there are other people in New York City beyond Kurt, Rachel, and Santana.

Judging from the new series of messages that Adam put on his Twitter account, it feels even more apparent than ever that the end really is just about here for him as Elliott:

“I also wanted to say how much I loved being on @GLEEonFOX this season. I learned so much & had so much fun. Thanks to the cast and fans. I love all of u who get it. Thank u for your continued support. This is gonna be a great year!!!”

So what lies ahead for Adam? He is going to be spending the summer touring with Queen, but also has been in Sweden working with hitmaker Max Martin, who along with Pink were behind one of his biggest radio smashes in “Whataya Want From Me.” He offered up a tiny tease of the sort of sound he is going with … though we’re pretty sure that this is not going to be enough to please many of you:

“What I CAN say about the album is that is a completely post-modern affair. Very sonically diverse and very honest.”
