‘The Following’ season 2, episode 12 preview: A reunion, and religious warfare

Has religion killed “The Following“? We don’t quite know if we can say that definitively, but the whole cultish nature of the show has taken the show in a bizarre direction that we certainly did not see coming.

Next week, we could finally see the reckoning for Joe Carroll and company that so many were looking forward to. We just hope that it delivers and equals all of the hype that it is given the promo below. Ryan and Claire are finally going to be reunited, and as happy as the two of them are by this, the problems that they are going to face right away might serve as a major disruption towards any sort of happiness that they do have.

“After a series of public condemnations of Joe and his followers, Joe targets the son of a man who stands against him. Meanwhile, Ryan is faced with the shocking news of Claire’s reappearance and Mandy makes a decision that leads her to a familiar face which could undo all that Joe has been working for.”

All of this has the makings of a knockout episode of the show, right? We at least like to hope so. “The Following” really needs something at this point to engage viewers and simultaneously have us excited at the same time, we really hope that this can be it. We’ve just been let down so many times already this season that it is hard to know for sure.
