‘Sherlock’ season 4: Benedict Cumberbatch’s latest sighting is … a racetrack?
Benedict Cumberbatch is surely a jack of all trades, and you see that at almost every move that he makes. At one point, you see him appearing as Sherlock Holmes on the aptly-named BBC series “Sherlock.” Then, you see him playing a character in a “Star Trek” movie, or hitting the stage to perform “Hamlet.”
So should it really surprise you at all that the actor has even been spotted now in Malaysia of all places alongside driver Lewis Hamilton? It really shouldn’t. According to reports, Cumberbatch was on hand for the Malaysian Grand Prix this week, which was ultimately won by driver Lewis Hamilton. Benedict actually interviewed him after the end of the race! Who knew that hard-nosed interviewer was one of his many job titles?
When it comes to his future TV gigs, you’re going to be waiting so long that you could run thousands of Grand Prix races in between one announcement and the next. “Sherlock” season 4 still hasn’t been fully confirmed in the way that we want, and while it is going to happen at some point, there is still no word as to when. In all likelihood, the next big announcement will come this summer, once Steven Moffat finishes his current season of “Doctor Who.” Even after that is wrapped up, there will still be the issue of getting Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman on board to do more episodes, and securing that their schedules all line up. Everyone wants to do it, but the process is not that easy.
