‘Big Brother Canada 2’ review: Did Ika make a terrible mistake?
There is a reason why we have been fighting to see an underdog be the recipient of the latest “Big Brother Canada 2” #BuzzWorthy twist (which has been all over the live feeds today; more on that later): This game is being completely dominated by the First Five right now, and it is leaving so many of the other houseguests to come across as completely and utterly naive.
The person at the forefront of all of this? Ika, who seems to firmly believe that she has all of the other women in the game in her pocket. That is why she put up Paul and Heather on the block rather than making a big move and targeting Kenny or Andrew. She knew the move would make her a target, and she didn’t want to risk it.
However, what she doesn’t quite realize is that she is going to be a target anyway. She deliberated with any people in the house, and that feels in some ways like what most of this episode was.
As for highlights that were not entirely on the live feeds:
1. Kenny once again professed himself to be an evil genius, and he is playing a very good game. We worry still about his threat level, and what he is doing to Sabrina will probably not win him over many favors.
2. Allison admitted that working with Andrew was not a stunt … and the groaning commenced.
3. The Have / Have-Not Competition was a lot of fun, even if these are the ultimate time-fillers. The only thing that we really gain from watching these competitions is learning a few new things about the players’ physical abilities. Being a Have-Not only really hurts you in the competitions, if you are weak to begin with.
With all of this being said, still a fun episode. At least there was no 20 minutes of time devoted to product placement. Grade: B.
