‘The Amazing Race’ episode 5 preview: Sri Lanka and a traveling gamble
Next week on “The Amazing Race,” there will be many risks taken in order to get ahead … especially for one team who desperately needs to try anything and everything after narrowly escaping elimination.
Brendon & Rachel were bailed out courtesy of finishing last in a non-elimination leg, which is good news given that they are probably one of the only reasons that Margie & Luke are still there, as well, and the latter team would have been target of #BrenchelArmy outrage had there been a real elimination.
The race continues next week to Sri Lanka, which is pretty ironic given that this is where twinnies Natalie & Nadiya call their home outside of America. Imagine how big of an advantage they would have if they were still in the race! This is a nation that will have at least a few similarities to where we have been in Malaysia, and it is somewhat surprising that we are five episodes in without a single change of continent to date. Is this the show’s way of cutting costs?
The preview after tonight’s episode of course featured the same sort of twists and turns that you probably expected going into this, but it also brought an interesting dilemma for Brenchel: Do you run the risk of a 30-minute connecting flight? This is the sort of thing that could save a team, but also doom them. After all, you could try to not take the risk when it comes to a flight and hope that another team messes up. There are so many different variables to consider, and since the preview doesn’t show what plan B would be for Brenchel, we cannot really blame the for going for what they need to do to survive. After all, they also have a Speed Bump to consider.
If you were Brenchel, would you run the risk of a 30-minute connection, or go conservative and hope that anything team messes up?
