‘Arrow’ season 2: See first full photo of Grant Gustin as The Flash
Just in case you wanted to have something superhero-related to talk about today, we like to think that we have that very thing for you right now: A quick look at Barry Allen as the iconic character of The Flash. We first saw Allen on “Arrow” season 2 in December, but never in this iconic costume before today.
So what do you do in order to get a full look at it? Just take a gander at the image below. It features the trademark lightning bold, the mask, and a costume that is much more comic book-flavored than what Oliver Queen airs on the CW mainstay.
If we were to get fully descriptive about it, there are some things that we like, and also some others that we don’t. One of the biggest things that we’re concerned about here is the shading. It may be the way that there is so much shadow in this picture, but it feels like this Flash is much more a deep shade of maroon than the iconic red. We understand darkening it a little bit, so long as the costume is clearly red still rather than purple.
The other inevitable issue with this costume is that it is far harder for Barry to blend in into the shadows wearing it, but The Flash was never a character who really relied much on traditional stealth. He will instead have to rush in at top speed in order to save the day, and get out of there before there are any problems that plague him in the long-term.
This pilot for the show is being filmed this month, with the decision from The CW coming before their upfront presentation in May. One thing that you can probably rely on? That we don’t see the network sending the show away, given the financial commitment and the popularity of “Arrow” already.
