‘Saturday Night Live’: Louis C.K. to host again on March 29
“Saturday Night Live” did more this weekend beyond just giving us a show hosted by Lena Dunham and with The National as a musical guest; they also announced who was going to be the next person to step into the spot as host when the show returns on March 29.
So who is it? You already saw the title! Louis C.K. is coming back for another go at hosting, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with that. He’s a comic at the top of his game, and we always do appreciate it when the show really brings out some of the big guns and people who know both comedy and the writing process.
So why is there no musical guest announced yet? The only real reason to think of here is that the show hasn’t formally booked anyone yet. We’re sure that they are in negotiations with someone, though; the irony here is that this is the second time in the next month and a half that the show has left us hanging on something. Prior to the Olympics, they made the unusual move of not announcing a host at all. It was later revealed to be Jim Parsons.
“SNL” operates under what is a little bit of an unusual schedule compared to other shows, where they frequently take these sort of sizable in-season breaks so that they can pick up a little bit of steam before going into the next new show, and allow for some more events to happen that they can spoof in the press.
