‘Downton Abbey’ season 5: Michelle Dockery confirms she will stick with the show
After “Downton Abbey” season 5 officially ends, that is when we know that the time for speculation is going to really start to begin. Just think about it for a moment: With many contracts ending, there are rumors already starting about whether or not certain actors could opt to leave the show behind, and go in a very different sort of direction in their career. Dan Stevens and Jessica Brown Findlay are two actors who have already done so.
One person who is not planning to do this? Michelle Dockery. Speaking on British TV show “This Morning,” which is basically the country’s version of “The Today Show,” she basically stressed that she has no plans to ever leave a show that she feels a great big of gratitude towards thanks to way in which it has helped to make her a star.
These are also comments that she echoed as a part of a recent interview with the Press Association, where she had the following to say:
“It’s been amazing, and like all the cast, we really weren’t expecting this. It’s brought about such opportunity for us all … Moving into something like Non-Stop has been a wonderful experience for me and I’m not sure that would have happened without the show so I owe a lot to the show.
“I love doing it, I love everything that goes around it like the amount of travelling that I’ve been doing. It’s really been an incredible journey.”
So just how long could this show last for? We know that this is one of the hot questions right now, but there is no concrete answer. All we know via creator Julian Fellowes is that for the time being, there are no plans to say goodbye to the Abbey this year. At this point, we hope that is true, given that we would like to see the show’s ending planned far in advance.
