‘White Collar’ season 6: Cast still waiting on USA’s decision
It’s been a while since we’ve presented an update on the fate of USA’s “White Collar,” but there is a specific reason for that: There really has not been that much to report about, unfortunately. We are into a new month in March, and with options expiring a little later in the spring, we know that there is going to have to be a decision made sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, the folks over at the network are currently still staying mum about what they want to do. As we’ve reported in the past, one of the biggest reasons holding up a renewal is the debate about cost versus ratings. It’s not a cheap show to make thanks in part to the New York location, and there are also differing opinions from a creative and business standpoint about what a season 6 could look like. It could be a 13-episode installment, six episodes to tie up the series, or something else entirely.
As star Willie Garson (Mozzie) reasserts in a series of posts on Twitter, the waiting game is in no part thanks to anything that the actors are doing. They all of course want to have a decision as soon as possible:
“To @WhiteCollarUSA fans, we thank you for the love and support, but WE (me, Tim, Matt, Tiffany, Sharif, Marsha) have NOTHING to do with it … WE (the cast) want @WhiteCollarUSA back as much as you all do, please be aware of that and that we are waiting just like the rest of you.”
We still feel like the show will get some sort of conclusion; while USA has been a little trigger-happy lately with ending shows, “Burn Notice” did recently get a chance to have a proper conclusion. As for “Psych,” we’ll have to wait and see when its series finale airs to find out.
For the cast, this has to be frustrating since this is more than a show they love; it’s their careers, and the hardest thing about the holdup is that it’s coming right in the middle of pilot season, where they could be off booking other gigs for themselves. That’s harder to do when you are in limbo.

Who would ever think it has come down to this, how could it not be renew as it
is such a brilliant show.
It’s not fair on us and it’s so not fair on the cast and everyone involved, please
we need season 6 and more, we need to know who is behind the kidnapping and
what is going to happen to Neal

White Collar is the most fun on TV & we need it back! I also check everyday. I know it can’t go on forever, but it needs a satisfactory conclusion.

Thanks for the (non) update. I check every day. It’s sad when such a great show gets so little support from its parent network.
