‘True Detective’ episode 6 preview: Cohle and Hart clash again (video)
The wait between new “True Detective” episodes at times can feel rather exhausting, even if it is only a span of seven days. What do you have to think for think. Think along the lines of just how awesome this show is. It’s not very often that there is a program out there that really gets you this excited, but somehow, this show really manages to pull that off and then some. It’s the most exciting thing on the air right now, and if you’re not watching … well, why are you reading this?
Based on the context of the story, we’re guessing that the sneak peek clip from Sunday night’s new episode is set in 2002, which is many years removed from the supposed conclusion to the antler case that we have seen outlined the past few weeks. The issue? Events have transpired that have in turn caused Rust Cohle to completely descend into this world again, and try to figure out who this “Yellow King” is and just what their presence means to the state of Louisiana.
Do we think that the rumors regarding Cohle’s involvement are true? Not exactly, but what we see him more as is a slightly-more-realistic version of the typical rogue cop character. He is completely broken, and doesn’t trust the system enough to fully engage in it. So with that in mind, he travels along the beaten path and hopes to find a few answers that could not be uncovered by any other means. Unfortunately, we get another reminder in this peek that Hart does not always appreciate these methods.
