‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: Michael Cudlitz on Abraham’s diverging path
If there is one thing that makes Michael Cudlitz’s arrival to “The Walking Dead” as Abraham even more interesting than it already is, it is the chronology that comes along with it. What we mean by that is mostly that this is a guy whose story in the comics is going to be pretty similar to what it is on the show; but with that being said, his path moving forward could be quite different. There are different characters he could interact with, and some of the things that he could do from the comics have been implemented into the stories from other people.
Speaking to TV Guide, Cudlitz added that there are just different situations that will need to be tackled, and they really cannot have the same exact Abraham in every way:
“Some of those stories that join us together have been told already … We’re going to handle it differently.”
With all of this being said, there still are going to be some similarities. For example, Abraham is still a military guy traveling along with both Eugene and Rosita, and the mission in the end to get to Washington has not changed. While there are going to be many differences that come moving forward, these are things that must be remembered as we continue to see this character grow and develop. When you also remember that he is a series regular, you have to be aware that he will not be going anywhere for a while.
