‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ review: Carlton Gebbia, Kyle Richards, and of course drama
We wanted to check back in on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” on Presidents Day for one simple reason: Seeing if this really is the show that our founding fathers fought so hard to give us the opportunity to watch.
There are times when this is actually our favorite of the entire franchise, mostly because it is sometimes so ridiculous and over-the-top. There is something fun about seeing how the insanely rich live, and we get that at times from Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, and Yolanda Foster in particular. We’ve also gotten that at times this season from Carlton Gebbia, even though there are also moments lately where it has felt like she is trying a little bit too hard in order to secure the attention of others.
As for some of the other ladies, it really feels like it’s time for Brandi Glanville to go. It’s almost like she was best in a “friend of the Housewives” capacity, because since joining the show as a full time cast member it feels like she is stuck in a cyclone of negativity, or spends more of her time doing “wild things.” Her spray tan scene was not particularly exciting here mostly because we’ve seen her wear tiny amounts of clothing so much, it no longer has that shock value to it.
Also, we really just don’t find Joyce Giraud that interesting. We did feel absolutely terrible for her the whole first half of the season, so maybe she should just get out of this crazy town while she still can. At least this episode had some touching moments to make up for the boredom, including the Yolanda Foster party where she watched her daughter grow up right before her eyes. Grade: C+.
