‘The Following’ season 2, episode 5 video: The Lily – Emma drama heats up

Is there already a war brewing on “The Following“? It certainly seems like it, at least based on the new video sneak peek that Fox has released for Monday nights new episode.

In this preview, the focus seems to be in some ways pretty singular: Joe Carroll, and whether or not Lily can find a way to spend the time with the villain that she wants. Unfortunately for her, there are some unexpected problems; namely, she is having a hard time getting close to the man thanks to Emma constantly lurking around every corner. She is making things difficult, and we are sure that there is also more than just a tinge of jealousy that is also factoring into this equation. She’s went through all of this trouble to spend some time with him, and then in comes this other woman who has her own feelings for him, not to mention plenty of history.

The only thing potentially helping Emma right now is having Luke present, given that he apparently likes her on some level, and doesn’t want to see her completely shut out just because of some emotions that Lily is feeling. This could morph into a pretty interesting story moving through the rest of the season, especially if Sam Underwood’s character (the slightly-less-terrifying one) ends up having feelings for Emma that are clearly of the romantic variety. It would complicate things in a big way, and they are already complicated.

Let’s just hope soon that this Lily – Joe conversation happens; in addition to that, let’s also hope that we can find out what the ultimate endgame is going to be.
