‘Arrow’ season 2: The old Flash joins the new Flash

The entire pilot for “The Flash” is starting to take shape, and while we may not see it during “Arrow” season 2 as was the original plan, there is still quite a bit to get excited about.

The latest bit of excitement? That we are going to see (if the show is picked up, of course) an old Flash possibly meeting the new one. Actor John Wesley Shipp, who is best known for playing the character on the CBS series that aired in the early 1990s, is going to make some sort of appearance on the pilot. As to the nature of it, that is being kept under wraps for the time being.

With all of this being said, there is something very interesting that we feel about this gig: It is not just going to be a cameo appearance, which is easy to assume after first hearing about it. Having an old version of the hero appear? In essence, it seems like a wink-and-a-nudge Easter egg, but instead it’ll be something with a potential to recur if the show gets picked up to series. For the record, we do feel pretty darn confident at the moment that it will. Grant Gustin did a great job as Barry Allen, and unless this entire pilot just tanks, it is going to be very hard for The CW to turn away a show that is following up “Arrow” and its ratings.

What do you think about the addition to this show? Be sure to share your thoughts with a comment.
