‘True Detective’ episode 5 preview: Is Rust Cohle suddenly a suspect?
While “True Detective” has been a pretty brilliant series to this point, one of the few criticisms that we have had of it is that when you look at what is happening in the present day, it really has mostly consisted of just watching Cohle and Hart sit around and recount most of what happened during their initial investigation.
Is that going to change the rest of the season? In the promo below for next week’s new episode entitled “The Secret Fate of All Life” (which sounds very much like something that Rust would very much say), you are for sure going to see a little bit of a different side of life in the present. Some of the questions asked start to make both Martin and Rust suspicious that maybe Cohle is being targeted for something, which causes him to walk out and proclaim that if there are any further questions that need to be asked, it is best to do so via a lawyer.
It is at this point that we now think that things are really going to start to become unhinged on the show, mostly because to date, what we have mostly just seen is the continued evolution of the characters to the point that we care about them. Now that things are completely hooked, it is going to become even more complicated and thrilling to watch. Maybe we’ll also get a much better sense finally as to what is actually happening in the present.
What do you think about this “True Detective” preview: Do you think that Cohle is someone who is hiding information from everyone else? Share your thoughts below.

Great Show. I guess the question remains, if they caught the original suspect, who is responsible for the 2012 murders?
