‘The Originals’ spoilers: All about Klaus and Hayley’s baby

At times, we know that in the midst of almost everything else that is happening with “The Originals” right now, it is pretty easy to forget about something big when it comes to the Klaus and Hayley characters: There is a still a child coming up for the two in the future. This is a story that was first unveiled during the show’s backdoor pilot last spring, but we are now starting to get a little bit closer to the point in which this child actually comes into the real world.

When is this moment going to finally come? Based on what executive producer Julie Plec recently told Entertainment Weekly, it feels like this is a moment that is going to show up on The CW before the first season ultimately comes to a close:

“I would say the second half of the season is the consequences of having… f—ed with the harvest in the first place — the revenge as enacted by these witches, the disintegration of the Original family as a result, and the rebuilding of both the family and the city in the fallout once the fallout from the witches and the dust settles from that. And of course, there’s a baby coming.”

That is a lot of different stories to get to, and the first one that really should be interesting to watch unfold is just what is going to happen when it comes to Klaus, Rebekah, and the arrival of Genevieve. Suffice it to say, there is going to be some insanity that surfaces out of that.
