‘The Tomorrow People’ episode 13 review: Who has powers now?
“The Tomorrow People” obviously knew that they were going to be heading off the air for a little while following this episode on Wednesday night, and with that in mind, the show decided to unleash what has to be its biggest stunner of the entire series so far: The reveal that there is someone with powers within Stephen’s own family … but it’s not his brother Luca.
Instead, the big reveal we saw during this installment was that his own mom was the person with the powers, and she used them in order to help ensure that Astrid’s father was safe following an attack. If the writers wanted to give us a jaw-dropping moment, they did that and then some.
But, with this being said, it is also pretty darn fair to say that we are also pretty confused and have all sorts of questions to the point where we don’t even know where to start. Why hasn’t Stephen’s mom said anything before now? Has she kept this a secret from everyone, including Ultra? Did Stephen’s father know? There are so many logical issues in our brain right now that we have a hard time really getting behind this and supporting it, even if it is the sort of game-changer that the series really needed.
Elsewhere, there were a few other solid moves that could be interesting, depending on how they shake out. Astrid being out in public again is something that, while a little unrealistic for Ultra given their track record, is putting the wheels of normal life in motion again. Meanwhile, John seemingly leaving The Tomorrow People makes things much more interesting for Stephen and Cara … but it also begs the question as to what he is going to do. Overall, one of the better episodes of the season, but far from perfect. Grade: B.

Stephen mom having powers wasn’t that suprising i thought that since the pilot and when john said cassie is stronger because both parents were ttp then i knew for sure. As for john i am guessing since everything is out in the open at his house john will probably be staying with stephen but i don’t really see him gone to long from ttp. Astrid s/l is the only really confusing part i do love the interaction with her and john (which seems fans are all loving) but she can’t exactly go back to normal life since they are now back to wanting her dead so where does she go from here

The next episode is called Brothers Keeper. I think Jed has been a double agent too and has been looking out for Stephen and his mother. I also think Jed had John “kill” Stephens father cause that’s what his father wanted. My hunch is that Jed has been working the plan that Stephens father wanted all along.

Stephen is a Surgent but the founder’s Daughter is being experimented on in a way to make her stronger or more powerful as we saw. Remember there is a question if she really is his daughter, or a favorite experimental pet. But the real shocker was Stephen’s brothers smoking pot (are they in Colorado )and that its clear the mother knows the founder because she hide her face, has powers stopping bullets isnt that hard for the tommorrows. i wonder how she got away from ultra ? mind wipe and more to question why is jedikiah is working with her ?

I just had a hunch from the beginning of tonights episode that his mom was going to have powers, too. Since BOTH of Stephen’s parents are Tomorrow People, shouldn’t he have the same amount of power that the Founder’s Daughter (I think her name starts with a C) exhibited in the beginning of tonights episode? I think they referred to people with two “tomorrow parents” as surgents.
