‘The Originals’ episode 13 preview: A new Daniel Gillies – Claire Holt scene

There is a new episode of “The Originals” airing on The CW Monday night, and the sneak peek that we have for it below really serves now to answer one very important question: Just how manipulative can Elijah really be? We know him already to be one of the craftiest guys out there, and while he may often have good intentions, you can see the pressure and the darkness of Klaus weighing on him from time to time.

Unfortunately, this new sneak peek from Tuesday night’s episode “Crescent City” doesn’t really give you too much to go on when it comes to story. What you have really here is Daniel Gillies’ character trying to force Rebekah (Claire Holt) in bending Hayley’s will to match his own, and there are a pair of reasons that we can think of immediately as to why:

1. Obviously, he has feelings for her, and he does not want to do anything that could even have the vaguest suggestions of hurting her.

2. There is also another issue here at play in that the last thing Elijah wants to do is force Hayley to do anything; if he goes about this process in the wrong way, then this is almost what he would be doing beyond the shadow of a doubt.

The Elijah character to us really feels like the one to watch the rest of the season, mostly because there are so many little assorted moments here and there when it feels like he is going to crack.
