‘Call the Midwife’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Jessica Raine and Alec’s fall

Tonight’s episode of “Call the Midwife” managed to stir up quite a bit of drama, especially when it comes to a young woman who saw her child taken from her thanks to some terrible legal troubles that she faced. For most of the episode, it seemed impossible that she was going to be able to move ahead and actually be with her child; but thankfully, a miracle near the very end managed to help change that.

So where does the story go from here? As the preview for next week’s all-new episode showed, there is going to be some serious surprises … and most of it is going to be completely independent of what you saw with Stella.

The biggest event that we see teased here is Alec, fresh off of a botched proposal to take his relationship with Jenny to the next level, is offering her an opportunity to travel with him to Brighton … maybe. The only problem that is going to come along with this is that Alec may not be able to make the trip in the end. At the tail end of this clip (which we will have here once it becomes available), you see him suffer what is a pretty scary fall. Of course, this is the ultimate TV cliche; right when you start to think that things are starting to settle down and become normal, something like this happens that completely turns things on its head. It’s great material for Jessica Raine, but not good news for shippers.
