‘White Collar’ season 6 debate: What would you like to see from Matt Bomer, cast next?
What is coming up on “White Collar“? We have to start this article off with some sad news: There is no official renewal yet from USA. With that in mind, tonight’s episode could technically be a series rather than a season finale.
But, with that being said, we do firmly believe that there is another handful of episodes left for the show. USA has made an effort to make sure that most of their series receive some sort of proper endings. Just look at either “Monk” or “Burn Notice” for evidence of that. (Yes, we know that there is also “Necessary Roughness,” but it was barely renewed for a third season in the first place.) The show and Matt Bomer seem far too popular for it to be ignored in some capacity.
If or when the show does get renewed for another season, what do you want to see? Here are a few humble suggestions.
1. Sara – This is the obvious one. Hilarie Burton is hugely popular on the show, and we know that there were a good many out there that were pretty bummed by not getting to see more of her on the show.
2. More serialized stories – What made this season so entertaining to us was that there were so many stories that really relied on the one before it.
3. A big-name guest star – It was cool to see so much of Mark Sheppard on the show this year, mostly because we haven’t seen too much of him since the pilot. Anytime that you see a familiar face, it’s exciting.
4. A return to the show’s roots – In the event that season 6 is the end, bring it back to what the show was about: Peter and Neal spending most of their time working with each other, but also trying to get the upper hand at the same time.
What do you want to see on “White Collar” moving forward, pending that it does in fact get renewed? Share your thoughts below, and also click here if you want to read some more related to the show. We’ll have a full review of the finale online soon.

How about Sara comes back to help rescuing Neal. Or Alex is related to Neal’s kidnaping. To me that Rebecca escapes prison to help finding Neal also pretty good !

They should bring Alex Hunter back for a few episodes! I obviously don’t think her and Neal will ever be a legit couple (considering their friendship is based on them double crossing each other lol), but EVERY time she returns, she spices things up. A great character in small doses!

and of course, Bridget Regan was perfect as Rebecca/Rachel. The scene where she finally gives up is so powerful.

I definitely loved Sara and I want to see her back! An awesome storyline could be a potential Sara/Neal/Rebecca(A.k.a Rachel) twist. :D

In spite of all her wrong doing, I would like to see Rebecca escape again and the FBI unable to find/catch her. Maybe she could even steal the diamond from the State Department.
BTW – She looks hot with dark hair !

First, Matt Bomer should grow his hair back before starting to shoot season 6 of White Collar cause we know he recently has ‘new hair’ and that is so not Neal Caffrey lol.
I want season 6 to be just as good as the previous ones. I just want White Collar to be back with more challenging episodes, more Neal Caffrey, more Mozzie, more Peter Burke, more Jones, more Diana and more more more.

I would love to see a season 6. I think the arc for that season should be centered around the Peter/Neal dynamic. Peter being suddenly groomed for Washington and Neal being stopped (again) from getting his freedom feels like strings being pulled by Kramer. Peter will realize after a heartfelt conversation with Mozzie that Neal needs his help. Neal wants to please Peter, go straight but he will need all of his considerable talents to escape this handsome new character in the cool boots…

Indeed, we DO NEED A SEASON SIX!! First if all, we have to find out who kidnapped Neal, why, and how he’s rescued. That certainly would take a few episodes. After that, Neal and Peter could work together, solving cases that happen where Peter’s wife works, at the Smithsonian! They have to bring Mozzy to D.C. to help them! Gotta have Mozzy…. All I ask is please have a sixth season.

I am torn on what I would like to see from the show going forward, but I am not torn on wanting more in general.
My favorite moments from Neal are always when he’s using his skills, wit or charm to get what he wants, and it’s been somewhat frustrating the past few seasons to see him come to view those skills as a defect or burden… something he should avoid. For the entire duration of the show, we’ve only ever seen Neal limited and tied down (with sparse exception), never in his element… in his prime. It would be very satisfying next season to see him fully embrace that side of him, to see what he’s truly capable of. He hinted at this in his threat to Hagen… and I’m dying to see that first hand.
.
SPOILERS AHEAD.
.
On the other hand, a backward slide like that kind of ruins years of character development… it’s the opposite direction of where they’ve been taking him so far. But, it’s not infeasible, and would make for an interesting character twist. Being betrayed by the FBI (denied his freedom) could result in a lot of resentment, potentially rejection of the notion of going straight entirely. “If they’re never going to let me go anyway, what’s the point?” There are tons of interesting directions that could go.

I’d line to see some loose ends tied up. Is Kate still alive? There’s no body and Vincent said the explosives were her idea. I think it would make sense if Kate was alive and Vincent’s daughter. I would also line to see Neal get his freedom and struggle with what to do with it. I think that if Peter is serious about Neal going straight then he should start requiring that Neal is prepared to go straight. For example, Neal is highly educated but has nothing on paper that he hasn’t printed himself. What shout getting his GED for starters?
On the professional front, I would like to see Neal start painting. Sure no gallery will touch him but that shouldn’t stop him from taking commissions. Of course, there has to be some unavoidable larceny involved as well.

I agree Season 6 should play FSOG with Neil and Alex! So long Sara, adios! Mozzie should adopt a little boy. Peter and El should have twins!

Sara wasn’t ,my favorite either, but when Neal did his fake proposal, she stole my heart. If I was playing Sara’s part, I would have been in tears also. She always stood by Neal no matter what he got himself into.

Gee, I thought this show was being watched by mature adults, if I can’t make a comment about what I think would help this shows ratings, because someone hates Sara, then you just go for it. I wasn’t making this into a baby show, if they get a season 6, it will be the last, I would like to see Neal finally be a happy man in a normal family. Well shame on me!!!!

Who ARE these people who want Sara back. I mean, she was alright, but nothing to write home about, and her story is long over. LIke poster above said maybe they are the actresse’s fans form another show, otherwise it makes no sense to revive that character.
Neal is on a very interesting path on figuring out what he wants. All he probably wants right now is to look ahead and not backwards. Sounds like he loves the idea of scouting the world. And who says he and Mozzie couldn’t pull of legitimate cons? Shouldn’t he and Mozzie get to keep some share of the diamond? Isn’t that how it works in real life?
Bridget as Rebachel, as she calls hersel,f was amazing this season. I don’t want her to be shoehorned only because we fans loved her. But if there is a natural progression with her arc, I’d love that. Maybe it turns out she’s isn’t a killer and was donning a fake scary persona as Rachel. She could help Peter with finding/rescuing Neal. I think it’ll be a challenge to find another actress that could top Rebachel’s chemistry with Neal. One could feel it in the air in their every scene together! But I’ll be happy to see another woman wooing Neal next season. He needs to find a balance, my Neal!

Season 6 has great potential. Matt is abducted by his biological mother’s helpers. Peter gets him back and cleared up quickly that he didn’t run on his own. Sara is sent to NY on assignment, and shows up 8 months pregnant, trying to avoid Neal, but he see’s her, he knows it’s his baby, They barly make it to delivery as they say their I do’s. Come on Jeff, give us all time romance gals a real fun season.

How about, Peter and El have couple babies too? Mozzie marries El’s sister and has a child. All the families have playdates and barbeques. But turns out Alex and Rachel are jealous and they kidnap all the kids, a la Pied Piper…imagine the drama! Or maybe turns out Rebecca is pregnant too, and Alex already has a child from Neal she’s been hiding! Let the girls duke it out!
And oh, btw, let’s just rename this show “The days of our lives”.

Oh please let there be a season 6, the series just cannot end this way. I think an exciting twist would be to have rebecca turn out to be sara’s long lost sister who disapered, to give her closeure and then have neal realize his own amazing talents as an artist and begin using these to support himself somewhere in france.

My favorite show! Someone please get a writer that will keep the tension going…in a good way. NCSI makes it happen. So can White Collar!

Mostly, I’d just like to see another year of Matt Bomer! As far as ending the series, I’d like to see Neal run off with Alex to our imagined adventures or continue working for the FBI on an as needed basis while married to the beautiful wealthy widow Sophie who could support his lifestyle requirements and whom he had great chemistry. I don’t want Sara back either. The writers do a good job of surprising us, but I don’t want to see him end up with a murderer as much as he admired her skills. I think he showed us that he has grown by telling Rebecca that sometimes you have to face the facts and by telling Mozzie that he wants to leave “the life”. I’d like to see that story line pursued, but he must always be mischievous or he wouldn’t be Neal. I DO want to see Peter and Neal close again. That was the hardest part of Season 5. Whatever the writers do, we really need a Season 6!

No more Sara! I think it´s a great opportunity to bring Alexis Bledel into the show for all of us who wanted to see them together in the FSOG movie..They would be awesome!

Seriously? You mention Sara that I haven’t given a single thought to this whole season and completely overlook Bridget Regan who has been amazing as Rebecca/Rachel! Talk about being biased!
I’d like Neal to explore his artistic side and figure out what he really wants in season6. And yes, finally, find a girl of his dreams!

Yes, I want Neal to find her too! Neal as an artist sounds perfection!

as an avid white collar fan one of the best thing about this season was the fact the character sara was not a part of it, she maybe “hugely popular” with her OTH fanbase but beyond that it’s a definite “PLEASE DON’T BRING HER BACK” attitude with serious adult minded WC fans, I would love to see more guest stars appearances now that would be awesome for a possible final season and to see Neal in the last episode laying on some exotic island beach sipping champagne and watching the sunset with a sly smile on his face.

I agree with you. The storyline with Sara is more than done. I highly enjoyed the season without her. Personally I hope to see Bridget Regan again next season. I have a feeling the story of Rebecca / Rachel hadn’t been told completely.

Agree with everything you said. The only thing I would add is I’d like Neal to find true love. He has so much capacity for love, romance, and friendship. He’s a giver.

Obviously the season will start with peter believing neil has fled because of the injustice. But in the end I would like to see peter understand that the system is broken and help Neil and mozzi on a heist and help them leave the country illegally
