NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: First look at Nathan Fillion, life after Troy
At this very moment, we, like many other “Community” fans around the world, are still trying to handle / get over the absence of a pretty important face on the show. We no longer have Donald Glover around to cheer for, which does make us somewhat worried.
But, at the same time, the producers are doing almost everything that they can with the next episode (entitled “Analysis of Cork-Based Networking”) to have us still excited about what is coming next: Nathan Fillion. The “Castle” star and “Community” superfan is going to be guest-starring as a notable janitor at Greendale, and he is joining a number of other special guests that also include Paget Brewster of “Criminal Minds” fame. We imagine that part of the reason for all the guests is to help you to get through the notable omission a little easier, as difficult as that may be.
So how will the spot at the study-group table be filled? While that still remains to be seen we do know that John Oliver is going to have a larger role in this episode than he did in this past one, which was simply a small scene with Britta as the game of Hot Lava first began. We’re okay with more Ian Duncan, mostly because he is a bitter / hilarious trainwreck most of the time. You’ll also have more Jonathan Banks, a decent dose of Dean Pelton and Chang, and we also imagine that most of the other members of the Greendale gang will be back. That is one of the reasons you have to be thrilled that Starburns is back this year after his absence during the “gas leak year.”
