‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 18: Is Bruce Jenner desperate to join?
With the new season of “Dancing with the Stars” starting up in March, this is the time in which the rumor mill really starts to get going when it comes to casting. With that in mind, should you really be surprised t all that some of the latest stories out there tie “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Bruce Jenner to the show? You really shouldn’t.
These rumors are coming courtesy of Us Weekly, who claims that Bruce is “dying” to do the show this spring. (That sounds like a little bit of a stretch.) Bruce would technically be the third person from the E! franchise to do the show after Kim and Rob Kardashian, though he is of no blood relation to either one of them.
As for the reasons why ABC would want him, it seems pretty simple. Bruce is a well-known reality star, and given that the show airs not long after the Olympics, it always helps to get a connection or two there (even if he was a summer games athlete rather than a winter one). Also, there is the chance that famous people would show up in the ballroom to support him.
As for why Bruce would want to do it, think along the lines of good publicity away from his split from Kris Jenner, and an opportunity to be in great shape still while learning something new in a fun environment. Plus, it’s a nice little source of income to boot. (Not that he needs it, but still.)
With all of this being said, we do wonder whether or not ABC would rather have Bruce on the show, or someone like his daughter Kendall, who could probably drive even more star power to the ballroom thanks to the laundry list of people she knows.
What do you think about the idea of Bruce on this season? Yay, or nay? Let us know below, and dance over here if you want to get some more updates from us since straight to your email every Sunday.
