‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Timothy Omundson on the fun of playing Cain
Tonight’s “Supernatural” season 9 episode is going to be a pretty awesome one, at least from the standpoint of getting to see the show’s interpretation of yet another iconic Biblical character: Cain. He is one of the first killers, and a man who was responsible for at least some of humanity’s corruption if you are someone who really invests some time into historical / religious texts.
On this show, the producers found a more-than-perfect guy to play the part in Timothy Omundson, who spends a ton of time in the Vancouver area in the first place thanks to his role on “Psych.” What does he have to say about taking on this role? Just look below at his full interview with Myfanbase, and be prepared to have a smile break out across your face:
“Let me first say that Robbie Thompson wrote me a hell of a role. We had worked together on ‘Jericho’ and ‘Human Target’ and had been talking for years about getting me on SPN if the right part came up. Finally, the timing was right and he wrote this epic role of Cain. Robbie and I have a very similar taste in movies and pop culture, we speak the same language in many ways. Cain is a Badass, pure and simple. The Original Badass. He has a deep, internal strength that I loved playing. Plus, he kicks some demon a** in a pretty wicked way.”
We know that Cain comes into the story courtesy of what he possesses, which could end up being extremely valuable in the fight against the new regime in Heaven. As for whether or not Dean will be successful in getting it, that remains to be seen; but, Omundson should spend some time working in this episode with Jensen Ackles, whose character is in a pretty tricky spot now after he and Sam went their separate ways last week.
All in all, this should be a pretty good one, and we’ll have more to share about it courtesy of our full review tonight. For now, click here to see some more on this episode, or here if you want to get a series of sometimes-supernatural emails from CarterMatt in your inbox every week.

The thought of Jensen getting to work with Timothy Omundson makes me happy, I hope they’ll continue to have more episodes together so we get to see two great actors on screen at the same time, and that it means Cain has some kind of connection with Dean and this is actually going somewhere.

I loved this part of the interview Mr. Omundson gave:
“What I didn’t expect was how great Jensen (Ackles) would be to work with. I had heard that he and Jared (Padalecki) were great people, but it goes beyond that. I was so impressed with this guy and the way he works. I have spent the last 8 years on a show and I know what a grind a TV schedule can be on it’s leads. But he was just great! Welcoming, generious, funny, energetic. I would jump at the chance to work with him again.”
Such lovely comments about Jensen from Timothy Omundson. It’s not the first time we’ve heard such praise of Jensen, it sounds like everyone loves working with him because of what Mr. Omundson said (welcoming, generous, funny and energetic).

Such wonderful comments about working with Jensen! Thanks for sharing that part of the interview as well… I hazard to say for me that’s the best part! :P
Don’t know why that quote wasn’t included in the above article.
