‘Agents of SHIELD’ spoilers: Jaimie Alexander to appear as ‘Thor’s’ Lady Sif
“Agents of SHIELD” has another big crossover event coming with something else in the Marvel universe, and it really should not come as much of a surprise at all that they are once again venturing into the world of “Thor.”
Not too long after we saw an episode that was more or less a continuation of the movie “Thor: The Dark World,” ABC head Paul Lee revealed at TCA this weekend that Alexander is poised to return to the series in an episode moving forward as Lady Sif, who she played in the movie. The obvious appeal to bringing the character on the show is to get some more viewers to check it out. If you love the “Thor” franchise, but felt the early episodes of “Agents of SHIELD” to be far too dry and not exciting enough, this could be a chance to get some of those old viewers back to see what is happening now.
What we are curious about now is if and when the show is going to start to bring in more characters from other parts of the Marvel catalogue. Why not show off some more of the “Iron Man” universe? What would it take to get a Chris Evans cameo, or to get some more backstory from Mark Ruffalo? We’re assuming that Robert Downey Jr. is pretty much impossible, but there are some other possibilities from the world of “The Avengers” that could be very interesting to see unfold.
Even with lower ratings, “Agents of SHIELD” is one of the bigger success stories on the ABC schedule this year, and it’s thanks to that we envision the show coming back on the air for another season.
